Central New York Dairy, Livestock, and Field Crops Team

Each year Fulton and Montgomery County farmers produce agricultural commodities valued at over 57 million dollars on over 400 farms. Fulton and Montgomery Counties are part of this five-county Cornell Cooperative  Extension educational effort staffed by a team of three specialists who provide educational programs to commercial farms in Fulton and Montgomery counties. Consisting of a dairy management specialist, field crop specialist and a farm business management specialist, the team meets needs with workshops, tours, self-directed groups, and individual assistance. The Dairy Science specialist is housed in our Fonda office. The Ag News newsletter reaches over 1,800 commercial farms and agri-service businesses in all five counties. The Dairy Team collaborated with the local Soil and Water Conservation Districts on specific projects including the ongoing management plan for the that we Ca
Cayadutta Creek, Canajoharie Creek, and Otsquago Creek Watersheds. Pesticide certification training was provided in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
