Think Spring: Trees are available
Posted 3/3/2010 by Karen Kosinski

Planning some conservation landscaping, planting a windbreak or reforesting an area on your property? Here’s an opportunity for you.

The Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District is offering quality evergreen, deciduous tree, flowering shrub, Berry bush, fruit tree seedlings and transplants for sale. Plants are bare root seedlings and transplants that will provide homeowners with an economical source of materials for conservation landscaping, windbreaks, and reforestation.

Seedlings are economical, easy to plant and handle, and a favorite for large-scale plantings.

Transplants, Are seedlings that have been removed from the original seedbed and transplanted in a new site. They are superior in appearance when compared to seedlings.

Here's what is available for order:

Evergreen Seedlings: Colorado blue spruce, White spruce, Balsam fir, Fraser fir, and Concolor fir

Evergreen Transplants: Fraser fir, Colorado blue spruce, White cedar, Norway spruce and White spruce.

Berry Bushes:  Latham Red Raspberry, High bush Blueberries and American Elderberry.

Fruit Trees: Cortland apple, McIntosh apple, Bing Cherry and Bartlett Pear.

Hardwood Seedlings: Black cherry, Sugar maple, Red maple, Black walnut, Red oak.
