All 4-H members (age 13 and over) and volunteers are invited to attend the 4-H Morrisville State College Tour on Wednesday, February 19th 2020. Attendees will be touring the agriculture and equine areas of the campus. Members are highly encouraged to think of questions to ask the professor/s and students who will be with us for the day! Things to know: Meet at the Montgomery County Annex in Fonda on February 19th at 10:00AM Travel to Morrisville State College - Carpooling - Approved Volunteer Drivers NeededLunch will be provided by the college at $6 per person RSVP to the 4-H Office by Thursday, February 13th

4-H Public Presentation WorkshopTuesday, February 18th 6:00pm - Montgomery County Annex, Room 111 If you have never participated in 4-H Public Presentations before, only given one presentation before or need a little help to find a topic and get started, then this workshop is for you! It’s never too early to start thinking about which topic you would enjoy talking about and what kind of presentation that you would like to give at this year’s 4-H Public Presentation Night on March 20th. This informative and fun workshop is for both Cloverbud and regular 4-H members. The workshop will feature some tips about selecting a topic and creating a poster and/or visual aids. Youth participants will also learn the parts of a presentation and how to organize his/her thoughts. Each participant will gain some practice in speaking in front of others. There needs to be at least 5 youth registered for the workshop, or it will be cancelled. To attend you must RSVP by Thursday, February 13th. Call 518-853-2135 or e-mail ky292@cornell.edu to sign up. 4-H youth with an interest in the poultry project and learning the life cycle of poultry are highly encouraged to participate in the 2020 4-H Mystery Chick Project!
Participating youth will have the option of completing the entire project through the growth of the hatched chicks or they may opt to only hatch the chicks and return them.

Wednesdays: February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, March 4th & 11th Room 111 - Montgomery County Annex - 6pm Come join Marge DeBlock for a fun filled sewing series! This series will give youth the ability to use sewing machines, hand sew and more. At the completion of the series, youth will have learned how to complete a beginner level item that they have sewn from beginning to completion. All 4-H Clubs & Individual 4-H members are encouraged to participate in this counties wide 4-H event. Each club or individual will register to exhibit a different country. An educational display is required and must include the flag of the chosen country, additional facts about the country/culture, native dish/dishes from that country to share and a short presentation of something culturally significant to that country (game, music, dance, craft, etc…)

The Fulton-Montgomery 4-H Program and 4-H Herd & Flock Task Group are pleased to present the application for the 2020 4-H Earn-An-Animal Scholarship Program. Youth 8-18 are welcome to apply for one of the offered species scholarships. Completed applications and two letters of reference are due to the 4-H Office no later than 4:30pm on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020. Please note: By applying, the youth is not guaranteed a species scholarship. It is a selection process based on meeting the scholarship requirements for the particular species. The Earn-An-Animal committee will select the scholarship winners based on the completion of the application, letters of reference, completion of species requirements, completion of Earn-An-Animal record book, submission of materials on time to the 4-H office and the overall quality of the 4-H youths Earn-An-Animal Project. If you have any questions regarding the program, please don’t hesitate to ask.

4-H Holiday Craft Workshop Sunday, December 8th 11am-3pm in Room 111 of the Montgomery County Annex Come join us for a fun time making holiday inspired crafts including ornaments and much more. Were you elected as a new club officer and have never held that office before or would you like to learn more about being the best club officer? Those 4-H Youth who have been elected as officers of their 4-H Club will learn what it takes to do the best possible job with their office. Offices to be covered include, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, News Reporter, and, Choose Health Officer/Recreation Leader. In addition to the training there will be pizza and drinks available for dinner. 4-H is the largest out of school youth organization in the United States with over 6 million youth members.
In the 2008-2009 program year, 7,523 young people ages 5-19 participated in 4-H programs in Fulton and Montgomery Counties with more than 200 volunteers contributing more than 42,000 hours in nurturing, caring relationships with youth.
A friendly reminder that the CCEFM office, including the 4-H office, is closed to the public on Fridays .The office is open Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
